The Vltava Philharmonic team took inspiration from Hamburg and Copenhagen

To ensure that the Vltava Philharmonic Hall is as well prepared as possible for everyday operations and visitors, the project team traveled to Hamburg and Copenhagen, where they consulted and gained experience from the operation of modern concert halls.

At the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, attention was focused on the technical and acoustic solutions for the main and smaller halls, visitor comfort, and operational facilities for musicians and staff. The program also included interviews with operators who shared their experiences with the day-to-day functioning of these institutions—what has proven successful and what elements they would do differently today.

Another part of the program took place at the Copenhagen studio of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the design team behind the Vltava Philharmonic. During joint workshops, the details of the project were discussed and specific insights from Hamburg and Copenhagen were further developed in the context of the Prague building.
